Knife Man
About Knife Man: Review, Story & Gameplay
Knife Man online is a short first-person filmmaking game by 3DI70R and Tihan. Set in the 1990s, it hands you a new VHS camcorder and a group of friends who want to shoot their own slasher movie. You are the camera operator: follow the actors through a dark house, capture each scripted moment, and turn the footage into a finished horror film.
Record the right take
Every scene gives you a performance to film. Look through the camcorder, choose your position, zoom for a stronger composition, and start recording when the actors are ready. Some takes work best when you stand still; chase scenes ask you to move smoothly and keep the subject in frame. If a shot goes badly, redo it before continuing.
A playful 1990s slasher
The VHS image, practical effects, and exaggerated acting recreate the charm of a homemade horror tape. This is about directing and camera work rather than fighting a real killer. At the end, the game edits your takes together so you can watch the movie you actually shot.
Highlights
- First-person VHS camcorder controls.
- Scenes with recording and retake choices.
- Zoom, crouch, sprint, and free positioning.
- Retro slasher atmosphere with humor.

Tips
Keep actors near the center of the viewfinder and leave room in the direction they move. Use zoom sparingly and redo a take if you lose the action.
