About Stillwater: Review, Story & Gameplay

Stillwater is a supernatural detective visual novel from Studio Clump. Private investigator Hugo Laurent receives an unusual client: a woman carrying a threatening letter addressed to her grandfather. What first resembles a family dispute soon points toward an old curse, and Hugo must enter the Stillwater estate with his assistants to learn who sent the warning and what the family has concealed.

Investigate the Laurent Way

The story combines dialogue choices with point-and-click exploration. Search rooms for meaningful objects, compare testimony, and decide how Hugo responds when the case becomes personal. The mystery is compact but highly replayable, with four endings, an additional epilogue, achievements, and details that take on new meaning after the first conclusion.

Case Features

  • Approximately one hour of detective storytelling and supernatural suspense.
  • Four endings plus an ending epilogue and unlockable achievements.
  • Point-and-click investigation inside a richly illustrated estate.
  • A memorable cast, including Hugo's assistants and his pet Colby.
  • Minor jump scares, abrupt sounds, and mature emotional themes.

Inspect every available object before leaving a room. The best route depends as much on what Hugo learns as on the choices he makes.
